Local Citations

Hello I need help regarding local citations as my customer is having business in New York and wants to rank there. What sort of citation i need to make? Should I need to go with USA general citation and then move specific New York local citation or USA local are just enough?

Hi! If he wants to be visible to potential customers in NY then you'd need to get on all directories and sites where those people hang out. That's certainly Facebook, Bing, Yelp, Google, Apple Maps, bbb.org, and similar depending on the niche. I would just search for the main keywords and then see what sites show up in the SERP for those queries. Then try to get listed on them.
